This list was compiled by simply taking the specific characteristics that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued in a recent Assessment they shared with local and national law enforcement on April 7, 2009. If you doubt this list feel free to pull the report up on the web by the title “(U//FOUO) Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.” What does this list mean? It is the basis for spying on the virtually any American, since most Americans will fit in one or more of the boxes above. Again, should you doubt the government’s intent, look at the final comments in this report: “DHS encourages recipients of this document to report information concerning suspicious or criminal activity to DHS and the FBI….each report submitted should include the date, time, location, type of activity, number of people and type of equipment used for the activity…”. Most of us law abiding citizens would assume that we would not fall in this request because we are not going to commit criminal activity. But the statement above also includes the very broad net called “suspicious activity.” This means we need to understand what suspicious activity includes. The answer to this is found by reading the entire document. Suspicious activity could be anything on the checklist above. That is the very purpose of the report, to give local law enforcement things to look for amongst these so-called “rightwing extremists”. Someone might say that I am exaggerating, but I tell you again to review the document for yourself. If you question the intent of agencies like the FBI to participate in this, consider the following information included in this report. The FBI issued a report in 2008 indicating some veterans are joining white supremacists movement. How does the FBI know this? They are obviously watching our veterans under suspicion of rightwing extremism. I ask you to consider this. Where in the constitution does it give the FBI authority to do this? Even if a veteran joins a white supremacist group, they have not broken any law. Isn’t this a violation of our fourth amendment rights protecting against unreasonable searches? Even if it were not a violation of the 4th amendment, what kind of country are we living in? Aren’t these tactics those which were implored by KGB and other communist regimes? Aren’t these tactics which we as Americans deplored during the Cold War? Yet here they are, in America, being advocated at the highest levels and in the broadest possible scope. Please note that we are not condoning actions or beliefs of white supremacists. This is simply a case that clearly demonstrates the overt violation of our rights by our government and the intent to continue to do so, based on so-called suspicious behaviors. Again, the definition of these behaviors is not mine it is listed in this document. It is so broad that it could easily include more than 70% of Americans. A great example of law enforcement following these edicts is the recent leak of the FBI memo requiring local field offices to stake out, with surveillance equipment , the recent TEA parties held across America (http://homelandsecurityus.com/?p=2659 ). Once again, you have a non-violent, non-criminal, exercise of our right to free speech, and the government orders it to be spied on, in every city where it occurred across the country. I am well aware that these are not pleasant thoughts and most people would prefer simply not to think about them. However, that has never been an answer. Consider the following quote from one of our nation’s founding fathers Patrick Henry:
“… whatsoever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.”
If we are not willing to know the truth, we cannot provide for it. I encourage you to learn the truth about the ongoing assault on our liberty by our government. If we do not speak up, it will most certainly continue and we will have less and less ability to provide for it!
