It appears based on the article below that the World Health Organization conveniently changed its definition of a Pandemic just before announcing the Swine Flue to be a Pandemic.
The whole definition has been re-written but here are the key before and after phrases:
From original definition:
“An influenza pandemic occurs when a new influenza virus appears against which the human population has no immunity, resulting in several, simultaneous epidemics worldwide with enormous numbers of deaths and illness.”
New language:
Pandemics can be either mild or severe in the illness and death they cause, and the severity of a pandemic can change over the course of that pandemic (emphasis added).
How convenient that just before stirring the entire world into a panic, they change their definition of a pandemic.  Funny thing is I don’t remember hearing any announcement about this change in definition, did you?  This is not just some glossary terminology change.  It is a wholesale change that basically invalidates the actual word Pandemic as the world has known it.  It now means basically anything they conveniently want it to.  Here’s the link to the article that uncovered this:
